Athletics

Athletics play a very important role in the overall development of each student involved in our programs.
 
At Tacoma Baptist Schools, we believe that athletics:
·      Reinforce the lessons learned in the classroom.
·      Provide a quality experience for the student in the arena of interscholastic competition.
·      Demonstrate our faith in action through the principles of teamwork, humility, sportsmanship, and respect.
·      Are glorifying to God.
 
TBS is a member of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA).  We play at the 1B classification level in the Seatac League.
 
Our athletic teams have a rich tradition of league and post-season accomplishments. Many of our teams have participated at the state level, and we hold state banners for boys soccer and boys and girls track. Soccer, basketball, and track + field make consistent appearances in the state tournaments.
 
Tacoma Baptist seeks to provide a quality experience for our student athletes.  Our goal is to see sports be a ministry of testimony combined with a strong desire to be excellent in everything we do.

ELIGIBILITY / FEE REQUIREMENTS:
2017 High School and Junior High Sports:
 
Must be done and completed before an athlete can participate in first practice:

• Athletic paperwork packet must be turned in  (Only needs to be done once per year)
  • All documents can be printed off online
    • Athletic Eligibility and Emergency Consent Form
    • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Form
    • Concussion Form
• Make sure athletic physical is current and has not expired  (Must do every 2 years)
• Meet Academic Eligibility Requirements  

Must be done and completed before an athlete can participate in first practice:

• Pay $125 sport’s fee for each season’s sport.
• If your child decides to do two sports in the same season, two sports fees will need to be paid.    

(Sports fees go towards the following costs: transportation, WIAA fees, referees/officials, etc.)
